The Town Hall of Benalmadena finalizes adjudication of projects included in the subsidy of Tourist Municipality for value of more than 600.000 euros. These projects will suppose culmination of the reform of the square situated in front of the building La Tribuna, installation of eleven ecological islands and lighting for the beach Fuente de Salud.
The Town Hall of Benalmadena is assigning three important projects that will be subsidized thanks to the qualification of Tourist Municipality. After receiving the qualification of Tourist Municipality, the previous Corporation signed in 2004 an agreement with the Council of Tourism of the Regional Government of Andalusia, which gives the right to accede to a line of economic aids in order to improve and to modernize the tourist character of the municipality. The Government Team found that the list of projects presented by the previous Corporation was not adjusted to the reality of the subsidies. For this reason the Council of Tourism has been asked to extend the period of presentation of projects for Tourist Municipality to modify some initiatives and present a new ones according to the interest and needs of Benalmadena in a matter of tourism. The Town Hall is going to initiate the period of assigning of three new projects included in the subsidies of Tourist Municipality, for a global value of 658.778,22 euros. A very interesting opportunity, since the totality of the investment corresponds to the economic aids from the Council of Tourism. The adjudication of these three projects will take place soon. The first project will be destined to reform the square La Tribuna, a place with most charm of historical centre of Arroyo de la Miel. The total work has a budget of 178.808,73 euros. The renovation will include: pavements, flooring, and street furniture on this square, providing with a new tourist attraction the centre of Arroyo de la Miel. Among other projects stands out the installation of lighting on the beach “Fuente de Salud.” A resource that, will improve the night image of the area, and finish the practice of “botellón” in this enclave. This project has a budget of 172.123,05 euros. Finally, the third project will suppose elimination of rubbish containers from Benalmadena and installation of eleven new ecological islands for the whole municipal area. This initiative has a subsidy of 242.235,84 euros for the supply of ecological islands, and 65.610,60 euros for the works of installation.
