The Delegation of Education takes advantage of FICCAB’s celebration to bring the cinema over to the schoolchildren of our municipality. Primary school pupils assist the diverse projections in the House of the Culture.
The Delegation of Education coordinated with the one of Culture has started the educational program “The school goes to the cinema” taking advantage of the International Festival of Shorts and Alternative Cinema of Benalmadena (FICCAB). In this form, the primary schoolchildren of Benalmadena will be able to approach the cinematographic art in a pleasant and very instructive form. A little spoiled by the bed weather, that has prevented some schools to come to the House of the Culture, this program will last until 17th of October. Three children’s movies adapted to different ages of primary school will be projected. This event will be accompanied of didactic material elaborated by the FAD (Foundation of Help Against the Drug Addiction) and given to the participants in the day of the projection. These movies have been selected by its attraction and especially by its content in educational values. In addition, this year we offer a movie of Classic Fantastic Cinema, in which our schoolchildren will be able to enjoy the creativity and the beauty of the creation of some years, based on the fantastic literature. The pupils who see the movie, ”Gulliver’s journeys” will be able to enjoy also the exhibition dedicated to “Words that never existed,” that will be exposed in the patio of the House of the Culture during FICCAB. Elena Galán, Delegate of Education, emphasises that this program “offers to the children the opportunity to enjoy cinema movies adapted to their age, interests and needs. At the some time, the teaching staff has the possibility to give complementary attractive activities connected with the contents of the educational program. Other aims of this educational program is to prevent, the development of not healthy ways of life, offering activities that orientate the students towards an acquisition of healthy habits that help them to confront the critical situations of the daily life, as well as situations of risk.
