The Town Hall of Benalmadena has installed seven new speed reducers to regulate the speed in the thoroughfare. In addition, we improved the road markings in diverse streets of the locality, as the roundabout Golf East. " The actions have been realized on request of the inhabitants of Benalmadena," announced the Councillor of Traffic, Sandra Martin.
The Councillor of Traffic, Sandra Martin, wants to bring your attention to the plan stimulated from her Council to provide the roads from the locality with new speed reducers." We consider the speed reducers a fundamental tool to regulate the speed in some streets of the municipality in which a certain trend has been detected to exceed the limits," reported Sandra Martin. In whole, we installed seven new high pedestrian crossings or speed reducers in the municipal area, and we improved the road markings in diverse zones of the municipality.
The criterion that we followed to install the new speed reducers have been the requests of the neighbours. We acted in all the enclaves in which we have been alerted of high speed of circulation of the vehicles. Every action was accompanied of a report of the Local Police in which they recommend the installation," detailed Sandra Martin.
The location of new high pedestrian crossings, which will be painted within next days, is the following one:
1. Avenue Juan Luis Peralta
2. Gardenia street: in this case, we opted to divide the speed reducer in two of less height. "In this street with a very pronounced slope, a nursery is situated, for this reason, and to avoid the danger of placing too much raised speed reducer in such a slope, we have installed two of minor height," the Councillor reported.
3. Gamonal Avenue.
4. Urbanization Tambello.
5. Street del Prado. (Calle del Prado)
6. Roundabout of the Flatotel.
7. Roundabout of the Pearl. (La Perla)
In two last cases, we situated the speed reducer just before the roundabouts. “High speed of the vehicles, circulating on the road of the Sol, has caused many incidents, we are sure that the speed reducers will avoid this situations in the future."
