The mayor of Benalmádena and the Councillor of Tourism has a meeting with the team of the Plan Qualifica. " The responsible team has proved to be very interested in our offer to reorganize Benalmádena Pueblo's old town ", informed Javier Carnero. The reorganisation of the former N-340 in its way through Benalmádena, or the rearrangement of our cost were another of the important projects raised in the meeting.
The mayor of Benalmádena, Javier Carnero, and the Councillor of Tourism, Maria del Carmen Romero, had a meeting with the team of the "Plan Qualifica". The initiative of global investment with European funds stimulated from the Council of Tourism to increase the quality of the tourist destinations by means of the design of strategies of rehabilitation of the tourist spaces and of the patrimony. The team responsible for the production, elaboration and processing of the different projects that includes the 'paragüas' of the "Plan Qualifica" has been organized by the Council of Tourism at the expense of the Andalusian Government. " We are perfectly in tune with the team, which has proved to be very interested in our project for the centre of Benalmádena Pueblo," the mayor emphasized. This project is included in this first year of the "Plan Qualifica," and consists of the reordering and putting of value of the most emblematic streets in Benalmadena Pueblo, with the new pavements and elements that promote the tourist attraction of this corner of the locality." The project has already a budget of approximately 1.200.000 Euros," commented, Carnero. In the meeting, we were talking also about diverse projects for the future of the “Plan Qualifica,” previous approval of the group named by the Government for the development of this plan. " The Government of Andalusia has already constituted a group of people for the evaluation and later approval of projects in the next years of the "Qualifica." Together with the team of "Plan Qualifica" we have evaluated diverse possibilities that they and this Corporation consider to be interesting ", the mayor disclosed. In this respect, we addressed three other projects of great importance. From one side, the arrangement and embellishment of the former N-340 in the section between Torremolinos and the Hotel Riviera. Another project would be the improvement of Benalmadena cost, in the section between Fuengirola and Riviera." The idea would be to improve and to adapt for the use of the tourists the whole zone of beautiful and small coves of our cost, a zone of great attraction and big possibilities ", the mayor added. Finally, we have planed zones in which it would be possible to extend the tunnel of the line of the train “ to construct in this way a boulevard with gardens that we have projected for the centre of Arroyo de la Miel.
