On Tuesday 15th of July, the first Meeting of Choral Music “Virgen del Carmen” will be celebrated in the port of Benalmadena. The Choral City of Benalmadena (la Coral Ciudad de Benalmadena) will act like a host.
Last Tuesday in the House of the Culture (la Casa de la Cultura) took place the presentation to the media of the poster announcing the First Choral Meeting “Virgen del Carmen”. This act attended the Councillor of Festivities Mari Carmen Florido and a representation of the Choral City of Benalmadena, headed by its president, Nélia Montesinos and its musical responsible Oscar Luis Sanchez Valverde. The assistants offered details about the new choral event that turns our locality in the most enterprising of the Costa del Sol in the spreading of this musical sort. To the traditional meetings organized by the Choral City of Benalmadena on their own initiative since 2002 we can add now this meeting promoted by the Councillor of Festivities and sponsored by this delegation within the acts of the Veladilla del Carmen. Next Tuesday 15th at 21:45 hours, the promenade of the Palms of our port will be the frame of a choral event that will allow visitors and residents to enjoy the songs that will offer the Choral Magnum Mysterium from Estepona, the Choral Association of San Fernando and the host Choral City of Benalmadena. Popular, ethnic and traditional songs, habaneras, boleros, romances, music of cinema and spiritual blacks will flood during this night the wharves of our port area. Being foreseen at the end a spectacular act with the joint performance of the three groups that will interpret “Salve Marinera” in the polyphonic version.
