Málaga: the queries made by young people on drugs are half of the phone calls to the ‘teléfono de la movida’ number.
A total of 5948 calls were made to this telephone number, managed by the company Asociación Cívica para la Prevención, hired by the City Hall’s Youth Department, which is a monthly average of about two thousand. 48% of them are about leisure and are information requests about the activities carried out by the Youth Department, concerts, cinema, theatre, among others. There is a similar percentage for queries about consuming hallucinogenic substances.
A percentage of them, 24 %, are about cannabis consumption. ‘Young people often ask us whether a specifi substance is good or bad for you. In those cases we first try to find out how much the person knows about such drug so that we can inform him/her better’.
